Established 1821

This light is located at the entrance of Boothbay Harbor, one mile from the port of Boothbay Harbor. The buildings have been restored to what they were like in the 1950s, and the state Department of Marine Resources runs a living history museum with interpreters in period clothing portraying a lighthouse family that once lived here (and leading naturalist hikes). Get to the island via Balmy Day II Cruises, Mondays and Thursdays from July 6 through Aug. 24. (
