Doubling Point Range Lights

Established 1898

These lighthouses are on the Kennebec River in Arrowsic. The two lights mark an extreme double turn in the channel at Fiddler Reach, and mariners line up the two lights to confirm they are on course. The lights are accessible to the public but are best viewed on local boat cruises. These lights were automated in 1990, making them some of the last to be de-staffed nationwide.
