This lighthouse is on Goat Island in Cape Porpoise. The light is accessible only by boat and is not open to the public. It can be seen on boat cruises or accessed by boat, but it’s the private residence of lighthouse keepers Scott and Karen Dombrowski. Goat Island was the last lighthouse in Maine to be automated (in 1990). When George H. W. Bush was president, Secret Service agents lived on Goat Island to keep watch over the Bush home in Kennebunkport. Today the light is owned and maintained by the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust.
