Libby Island Light

Established 1822

Libby Island Light is located on Libby Island near the Machias Bay entrance, nearest to the town of Machiasport. This lighthouse is not accessible to the public and is best seen by boat—if you can spot it through the fog. The light was automated in 1974 and converted to solar power in 2000. The light station and island are maintained by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
